TD5 Fuel Filter Water sensor
« on: June 18, 2013, 00:12:21 »
Hi Guys, question, can the fuel filter with the water sensor which is a bloody pain in the harris be changed for a filter that does not have the sensor fitting, and if so do you have to make any wiring mods or just cable tie the plug out the way. What filter would you reccomend.

Paul thanks mate, as i've not changed one of these before do you need to prime the new filter with fuel or is it self bleed where  you just screw it on.

You can fill it with fuel before fitting, but if you put it on empty and turn the ignition on the pump will fill the filter, It make some strange noises when it filling, when the noise stops/slows start it up and allow it to tickover, it will clear the air by itself.
