1991 it's not a factory imobiliser, I suggest you find it and rewire the car to how it should be.  You could try just jumping the wiring to the coil and ECU to get youhome.  Beyond that I'd need to see it to know much more.

Hi Kizz
Does it have any stickers in the windows.... think RR factory was CATS or some other acronym and displayed stickers, Otherwise look for a black box under the dash with all black wires, labeled when new so you can wire it in then you remove the labels so nobody knows which is which  ;)

hello,
im not sure the problem lies within the immobiliser now, as when i was taking a lot around i found a key fob so i connected pinky up to the rangie and tried it as if pinky was it battery, and the key fob made it make a beep and unlocked it then i tried the key and it turned over,
i only let it turn over once as theres no oil in it, and theres somthing that we think to be the powersteering pump hanging off and theres no fuel in it at all, so next bit will be to refit the bit hanging off and fill with oil and put in some petrol and try in again
any advice?

cheers kieran

If it cranks then check for fuel, (pump, filter etc) and ignition module working (injectors etc).  Otherwise the ignition systme is totally stand alone fomr the fuel, check for a spark and if possible check the timing.

Hi again
Have timing strobe, injector pulse testers, general electrics tester, spark testers and assorted other stuff.  Just short of time  :(
You are welcome to come borrow stuff and I will try and find some time.

If you get it filled with oil turn it on the battery till the oil light goes out, if it doesnt its time for a trip to the chemist
(for vaseline to prime the pump  ;) )

Where is it now, Mansfield?

hello,
its on the driveway at home in mansfield, looking a little sad at the moment,
its been sat for at least two years ( know this from the fact the last taxt disk is 06 )
so it'll need a little service i should think,
i checked over it, the chassies was mostly fine except the sills were rotted, the shock absorbers at the back had rusted through and the brake disks were really thin, the power steering pump was hanging off, and there appears to be a couple of stray cogs that look like they should be in the engine somewhere behind the dash,
we are having a blitz on it on the 6th december to get it running enough to drive onto a trailer with nowinch ( so im told ) so we can move it to a shed in a farm in yorkshire to be slowly restored to be finnished hopefully before next years landy rally.

cheers kieran
