OK I took a look at my rear lights last night as the fog lights weren't working, dirvers side doesn't work as the wire's been cut and no bulb, passenger was a loose connection, so sorted but tempermental so will have another play tonight, so I have working fog lights, but this lead to another problem! the stop/tail bulb broke whilst refitting, so I replaced it but the bulb holder is not attached to the light body (think it is supposed to be!) so there was no earth and they wouldn't work. Fabricated an earth by wrapping a wire around the buld before putting it into the holder and crimping it to the exising earth, sorted bulb works.
BUT, and yes another but.
Now the drivers side stop tail is causing problems.
It works, brake light works, side light works, but if the lheadlights are on and you press the brake, the bulb goes out rather than the brake filament working, so any suggestions???
Must admit the wiring is a bit of a bodge, blue connectors everywhere, but it was working fine beofre I did anything (except for the fog lights obviously!)
Coud this be an earth problem on the drivers side unit?? it's the same as the passaegner and the holder isn't attached again, but not sure this would be it as both brake and side light work, just not both toegther!!
Any suggestions before I strip is all down again toinght???
